I Feel This Ornament Says It All

I Feel This Ornament Says It All

During this journey, we have been able to spend some time with family, and the more I observe, the greater appreciation I have for my family and the memories we share.

My husband and I were able to join my parents in choosing a Christmas tree and then decorating, a tradition that my parents and brothers used to do, and one I was excited to be part of again this year.

While my Mom and I carried boxes of family Hallmark ornaments up from the basement, a staple gift from my grandmother to mark the years, I witnessed my thoughts going to the time we used to spend as a family, when decorating the Christmas tree consisted of an evening of cookie baking, classic Christmas tunes playing on the record player, and taking turns with my parents and two brothers, finding the perfect spot on our carefully chosen tree to hang each ornament.

Although not exactly the same, as my older siblings were not home to assist, I could still feel the love we share as a family and that is what Christmas is, and has been, to me.  A time that we could share that love, whether it was between siblings constantly at war fighting for attention, or family drama that would dissolve instantly in the air of laughter and love.

I Feel This Ornament Says It All

There is truly something magical about Christmas, the love, togetherness, generosity, and the feeling that anything is possible.  I believe all because we are focused on others this time of year.  We tend to focus on what makes others happy and spreading joy and giving.  A sense of love that spreads beyond where we are individually, like a feeling of well-being that radiates into the universe.

Of course, this is just one theory, but I can feel it, the compounded love of millions of people spreading out into the world, a shared experience without being in the same room, but the same level of consciousness.  Everyone has different beliefs, but I feel I’m not alone in this one.  Does anyone feel the same?

I challenge everyone to observe and feel into the magic of Christmas, the love that is shared, how it makes you feel, and how it makes you act towards others.  Then, ask how the world would be if we could all be in this loving, selfless state of mind throughout the year and our lives, beyond one magical day.

Merry Christmas! We wish love and joy for all, now and always.
